Praising God breaks the chains off. Praising God is easy when life is going well. But what happens when we praise God in the midst of a dark situation. Praise is so much more than just singing to God. Praising God is  a weapon in our armoury that can cause the things that hold us back to be broken off us. Take Paul and Silas for example (see Acts 16). Here we see two men of God getting severely beaten, thrown into the middle of the prison (probably the maximum security section of its day), and bound in chains.
